Judicial Mentorship Program
The Mexican American Bar Association is proud to announce the creation of its first-ever judicial mentorship program, in which local judges serve as mentors to MABA law students. The program aims to provide students with the opportunity to build lasting relationships with prominent and experienced members of the judicial community, while furthering the judiciary’s commitment to fostering a diverse and experienced bar.
The premise of this program is simple: to match members of the Los Angeles judicial community with energetic law students sharing similar professional aspirations or academic interests. Judges serve as role models, offer academic and career advice, and guide students as they develop important professional networks. In past years, judges from both the state and federal bench have served as mentors to our students.
Students interested in participating in the program should be prepared to submit a resume, a short statement of interest, and any other information that may prove beneficial as we attempt to pair students with the most appropriate judges. Students must demonstrate a clear motivation to play an active role in the mentorship program, including a willingness to coordinate an initial meeting with his or her assigned judge as soon as pairing takes place.
If you are a judge or student member of MABA interested in participating in the program, please email mabalaco@sbcglobal.net for more information or to apply today.
In order to participate, students must be registered MABA members. Membership is free for students! If you are not a MABA student member, click here to join.
